Reconstructionists advocate theocracy and the restoration of Mosaic law. Thus, Reconstructionists are generally characterized as political radicals. The movement declined in the 1990s and was declared dead in a 2008 ''Church History'' journal article, although Christian Reconstructionist organizations such as the Chalcedon Foundation and American Vision are active today.
